Exposed Firearms _Initial

API Academy is certified by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) to train in exposed weapons.  Our course meets all BSIS requirements for certification and our Range Masters are experienced and safety oriented.  Courses are held in the API Classroom and hands on instruction is performed at a private range.

This course is mandatory for a Security Officer to carry an exposed weapon on duty.  This course will instruct you in the legal and moral aspects of the use of deadly force.  You will be instructed in the basic use of firearms, including loading, unloading, handling, holstering, drawing and firing the required course of fire. If you bring your own weapon you need the weapon a minimum of 100 rounds, holster and good belt.

Firearms rentals and ammo available.  Additional fees for BSIS Application and background checks.  Live scans available at API Academy.  Classes held 2nd and 4th full weekend each month.  Call 530-749-0283 for sign up and information

Range day will be held at an outside range and maybe subject to weather restrictions.  Classes must be paid for in advanced.
