This course will instruct you in the legal and moral use of a firearm and carrying it as an armed civilian.  This course is recognized in Yuba, Sutter and Colusa Counties and the city of Colusa.

 

Please take note: Starting January 1, 2024, due to the newly enacted CCW Law SB2, signed into effect by Governor Newsom, there are some important changes. This law modifies Penal Code section 26165 (a)(1), now mandating 16 hours of training for obtaining a new CCW license. Also, effective for all training classes commencing after January 1, 2024, there will be an increase in class fees to accommodate the extended training duration.

 

This class meets or exceeds the requirements for the California Concealed Carry Permit. This class will cover the following items.  Fireare safety, basic firearm handling and shooting fundementals, Safe Storage, Legal methods on transporting a firearms and propers storage and securing in a vehicle, Legal and moral use of deadly force, where you can go and not go with a firearm, de- esculation of force techniques as well as additional such as malfunctions, cleaning and more.  

 

Cost $75.00 for initial course (8 hours) Renewal Course.

 

We do not charge more for additional weapons

 

You must have the following

 

Weapon(s) you wish to have on your permit

 

Suggest 100 rounds for the first weapon for training purposes. 

Legal and Moral Aspects -

When  you can use Lethal Force, Where you can and
cannot carry your weapon, condition colors, Criminal and Civil
Liabilities.

Use of Force - De-escalation of force - Alternative defensive devices

Tactical considerations - Weapon, Ammo, Holsters, Clothing

Shooting Techniques - Target Acquisition, Weapon Handling, Drawing and Holstering (Safely)

Live Fire Range Drills and Course of
Fire

Ammo - Depending on the jurisdiction you may be firing 25 to 50 rounds with each firearm.  I always suggest 50 to 100 rounds for each weapon just so you always have enough ammo.

Course of fire will depend on the residency.  Yuba and Sutter is as follows

 

15 Yds - 10 Rounds

7 Yds - 5 Rounds

3 Yds - 5 Rounds

3 Yds - 5 Rounds Strong Hand Only.

 

Sacramento and Colusa - Amred Guard Course - 50 Rounds

This for each firearm you wish to carry.  

You will be required to take a test for each initial and renewal. 

 

Eyes and Ear Protection is available at the range at no cost but you are encourage to bring your own

 

We meet at office for paperwork and payment then go to the range.

This class is held a minimum of twice a month 2nd and 4th full weekend of the month on Sundays.
